I opened the letter that dad had sent me. It said.....
Dear Crystal
I miss my darling! How are you?
My business trip is going well!
You should come and visit me.
Don't let mom know you got this letter from me!
Be good sweet pea!
Love,
Your Daddy!
Oops! I already told mom and she is already pissed off! I am so dead! Should I tell dad? I don't know what to do! OH MY GOSH!
I finally (after a few hours) figured out what to do! I decided to write dad a letter. It said.......
I finally (after a few hours) figured out what to do! I decided to write dad a letter. It said.......
Hi dad!
I miss you too!
I am doing well especially in school.
I am glad your trip is going well.
I can't wait to come and see where you are
staying and what you are doing.
Love,
Crystal
I can't believe that I didn't tell dad that I told mom I got a letter. He will totally find out anyways. Dad trusts me. At least he used to! I won't even get to see him for another year. then when he get's back he won't even be happy to see me. I forgot to tell dad that mom had gone bananas and that i was thinking about staying with Aunt Cindy.
I was thinking about Aunt Cindy's day in and day out. Dad would've said that I was as slow as molasses. I decided to stay at Aunt Cindy's house. I got to Aunt Cindy's house or as she called it Casa de Cindy as she rolled her tongue. I knocked on the door and there she is, standing in front of me, a lady with her hair curling like snakes, dressing like a person from the 60's wearing bell bottoms.
"Hello honey bee!" She said in a nasal voice.
Just like she used to call me. I went in to the house scared to see what was coming next. Come with me i will show you where you are sleeping. I was hoping it would be bright colors. I walked into my room and there was the color that I was not hoping for, a dull ugly puce color. Puce is red and kind of maroon. Puce that makes me want to blah!! You know the word that rhymes with Luke but with a P. It is close to puce too. On the wall there are ants on the wall and i felt like I was in a ant hill.
" I painted a room with your favorite color and your favorite animals on it." Aunt Cindy said.
"Yeah when i was eight!"
I mumbled so that she could barely hear me. I was not excited about this!
For dinner that night we had breakfast. She knew that breakfast food is my favorite to eat. We decided to have omelets. They looked so good. I took a bite into it. EWWWWW! The omelets were the worst omelets that I have ever eaten. They were like jello in a fridge cold and jiggly. I mean it might have tasted better if there wasn't loads of pepperoni in it. Aunt Cindy definitely forgot that I HATE pepperoni!
I lost my appetite right away. Well not in the morning. I asked if we could have French Toast.
"Sure!" she yelled
I was so excited! I was jumping up and down and all around. Until I found something sitting on my plate. And I think it might have been moving! There it was........that gross thing on my plate. It was kind of like sticky slime stuck on you and it was not moving. I'm telling you one thing. That was about to be the obscene and foul piece of French Toast. An alien could cook it better.
That afternoon i skipped lunch but I went swimming. Aunt Cindy has a swimming pool in her big or grande backyard. It was a C and a K connected like this...... CK. The letters are like bubble letters and the space between the two letters was a hot tub. It stood for her initials Cindy Kelly.
It was still going to be a long time until dad came home so I might as well get used to Aunt Cindy
"Come on honey bee , we are going to the airport to pick up your cousins. They just came back from some place, I have no idea where." Aunt Cindy said.
"Who." I asked
"Meghan, Brianna, and Micaela." She replied.
"Oh they went to Australia?" I asked because the sign was right over my head.
"SURPRISE!" Aunt Cindy yelled
Oh my gosh it's dad! I haven't seen him in forever. Well I guess I was using a little exaggeration.
"DAD!" I yelled
"Hi my darling! I am only staying for a few weeks so where am I staying?!"
"Well....." I stuttered as I could not tell him I was not staying with mom.
" Where's mom?" dad asked
Oh my gosh I really wish he didn't ask that. I really just said that in my head and he has to come out and say it I mean come on!! Well I guess I have to tell him.
"She is...uh....at the house. But not the one that I am staying at. You see mom has been acting little...uh....crazy, goofy, annoying, ru.........He stopped me right in the middle of my sentence.
"Okay, I get it!" He said in a tense tone.
"So I have been staying with Aunt Cindy."
"Oh!" Dad said "Well do you know where she is?" he asked
" No." I said depressed "She may still be in the house!" I said.
"Hopefully!" I mumbled under my breath.
We drove to the house but when we pulled in the drive way, the cars that were in the drive way were not my mom's. I didn't know what could be happening. I walked up to the front door of the house with my Aunt Cindy and my dad behind me. I knocked on the door. Someone came to the door.
"Hello sir!" I said "Where is Tasha?" I said(Tasha is my mom's name!)
"Who?" The man asked
"Tasha, the lady who lives here." I viciously answered.
" Oh ya,Tasha, she used to live here, but she sold the house because she couldn't pay the bills." the man replied
" Do you know where she is now?" I asked worried.
" Ya, she said she was going to..... 194 Grove Street. On the other side of town. I asked if she needed a ride but she said no. She wanted to go see her daughter and her sister." the man said as I ran down the walkway and into the car.
We saw this lady walking down the street but it wasn't mom. We all went back to Aunt Cindy's house and there she was! It was mom knocking on the door waiting for us to answer it. I hopped out of the car and gave her the biggest hug I could ever give anyone!
"Hey honey! How's it going?" she asked in a lovely tone.
" Great mom I missed you!" I said
You can tell she was happy to see dad but she was also going to tell him that she was mad she did not get a card from him. I mean I would be mad to. So inside we all catch up on what each other has been doing and how we are all going to buy a bigger house and split it. I was thinking to myself, yeah right, living with Aunt Cindy will be so fun......not! But it actually was. She may not be the best cook or mother or parent or the nicest or the coolest.... and then i stopped because dad and mom were talking to me and I was completely ignoring them. I think what they were saying was you should really not care how crazy people are just at least you have a roof over your head, food, and plenty of water! I thought in my head while kept chatting...I hope I can bring some friends home now!
We continued our conversation inside over lunch and I finally felt like I had a big happy loving family again! I went to sleep that night knowing that everything was going to be okay!

ReplyDeletei really like the way you composed this story. The general story is very interesting.
One thing io would polish would be maybe make the story go a little longer.
One question is does she ever see her dad again.
